Is a New Roof on the Horizon?

While you may expecting the roof on your home to fail on its own before you replace it. If your hone is a certain age, you may be looking at a roof replacement much sooner than you think. No matter how old your home is or the last time you had a roof inspection, here are some signs that a new roof is in your future.

  • Besides you doing preventative maintenance on your roof, if it just looks old and worn out, it may be a good time for you to hire a Nashville roofing contractor.
  • Shingles appear to be warped and curling. You may or may not also notice the tabs are flipped upward or in a cup-like shape.
  • Roof is over 29 years old. Although today’s shingles are designed with optimal durability and can easily last 10 years or more, a roof that is past its prime is not able to ventilate your home properly.
  • Streaks, especially dark streaks are often the result of algae and mold. Although algae does not necessarily pose a threat to the roof besides creating a disturbing appearance, the presence of mold on the other hand means it’s time for a new roof.
  • Every other time it rains, a room in your home ends up leaking. A roof that is full of holes can damage your home’s foundation, thus slowly destroying your home from the inside out.

While the prospect of shelling out time and money to get a new roof aren’t necessarily appealing, they are great investments to make that can save thousands and hours of time in the future. Don’t delay your roof repairs or replacement any longer. Even if you need to save up some money to get things squared away, do not hesitate to get your roofing concerns resolved as soon as possible.
